History

Equality was a midpoint between Eldorado and Junction. On April 16, 1912, the Railroad and Warehouse Commission of the State of Illinois directed the L & N Railroad to move the existing depot or construct a new one on lot 21. The depot had previously been located at this location but moved for an unknown reason. The depot was engulfed during the 1937 and photos provide a glimpse of the flood.
